The Governors House, November 7
The Governors House was home to several government office since 1598.
The land The Governors House was built on was returned to Spain in 1783 due to the Treaty of Paris.

Post office, November 7
The Post office in St. Augustine Post office from the late 1880s until 1965
The structure of the building follows the architecture of the original buildings.

For this structure the main point I took from each building was the arches and the roof layout. I liked the arches from the post office wanted to include with the shape of the the Governor House. Then I took the roof of the Governor House and created the shingles giving it the look of and old designed house. The result of the house was to look like an old town house by combining each of those details.

Casa Monica, November 7,
The hotel first opened in 1888 and it was built on New Years Day.
The hotel was built due to the spike in tourism in St. Augustine.

The Governors House, November 7
The Governors House was home to several government office since 1598.
The land The Governors House was built on was returned to Spain in 1783 due to the Treaty of Paris.

For this sculpture I used all three building for inspiration for my building. The process for creating this one was a lot different than the process for the first sculpture, it was more spontaneous with the decision making. I do the color from Casa Monica and made the inside red and like the shape of the roofing. I did not take any structure ideas from the governor house on this one but I used the objects surrounding the Governor House and placed them inside my building. Than again took the arches from the Post office and resigned them differently for this building.

Reflection Statement
While exploring the materials to build sculptures, I wanted to focus on not planning out my sculptures because the more structure the less the process came together,  I decided to include my favorite materials because they allowed the process to flow more smoothly making the process fun.
I felt the work was lacking details that stuck so I added hot glue to the last 2 sculptures because the end results after experimenting with it added the detail to give texture and an eye catching appeal.

I want to keep exploring the idea of creating sculptures without making it typical shapes and ideas.
I want to learn more about materials and experiment with different sizes and textures in sculptures.
This piece allowed me to explore a different side of art with more creative freedom which allowed all the pieces to be unique and reflect ideas.
The making of this work exposed new ideas such as that anything can be art without having to look like something and everyday items and crafts can turn into a beautiful piece of work.
